Beacon Rock Trail is a short hike in Oregon's Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, within the Gates Of The Columbia River Gorge Special Management Area. The trail runs about 0.76 miles with a total gain of 555 feet, from a start elevation of 293 feet to a high point of 836 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is rated easy. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. A nearby weather station at Bonneville Dam records typical July and August highs around 79 to 80°F, with only four to five wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and rain on more than 20 days in December and January. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. The climb starts with a steep section at about 0.19 miles, where the grade reaches 21 percent. The River to Rock Trail and the Northwest Face climbing area both lie about 0.1 mile away, and the Hamilton Mountain Trail is roughly 0.3 mile off. Eagle Creek Overlook campground is about 4.5 miles away.
