Horsfall Campground sits within the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, on the Central Coast Ranger District-ODNRA of the Siuslaw National Forest in Oregon. It lies about 1.7 miles from the town of Shorewood, and the Forest Service manages the land. The campground is built for off-road vehicle riding. It offers flush toilets, drinking water and token-operated showers, with picnic tables and fire rings at each campsite. An All Terrain Vehicle loading ramp is also available, and sand trails run from the campground to the dunes. The Horsfall Off Highway Vehicle Staging Area, northwest of the campground, holds the off-highway vehicle trails and open riding zones. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at North Bend show July and August highs around 66 to 67°F, with only about four wet days a month. Winter months bring highs in the low 50s and rain on 17 to 20 days a month. Hikers can look for the Blue River Trail, about 1.2 miles away, and the Wild Mare Horse Trail, about 1.2 miles off. Kentuck Slough offers canoeing roughly 3.9 miles away, and Horsfall Sand Camps is just 0.1 mile from the campground.
