Grassy Ranch is a Forest Service campground in the North Umpqua Ranger District of Oregon's Umpqua National Forest. It's a simple site with vault toilets as its main facility. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. July and August typically reach highs near 79°F with only about four wet days a month, according to typical averages from a nearby weather station. That station sits roughly 1,200 feet lower than the ranch, so temperatures here run cooler. Winter is cold and snowy, with December and January highs in the upper 30s and around 10 to 18 wet days a month. Reynolds Shelter, a campground about a mile away, is the closest neighbor. Fuller Lake and Boulder Creek are both hikes within two miles, and Bear Camp Shelter is another campground at about 1.7 miles.
