Eagle Creek Overlook is a Forest Service group site in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area in Oregon, about a mile from the Washington side of the Gorge. It was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s as a place to watch construction of the Bonneville Dam, and it still offers sweeping views of the Columbia River from a bluff. The site is set up for family gatherings and other group events. It can hold about 90 people and 40 cars, including trailers, and has a covered picnic shelter, picnic tables, campfire rings and portable toilets. Electricity is on site but limited to lighting around the building and a few 120-volt outlets in the restrooms. There are no RV hookups. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Bonneville Dam weather station show July and August highs around 79 to 80°F with only four or five wet days a month, while winter brings highs in the low 40s and rain on more than 20 days a month. The closest neighbors are the Eagle Creek Overlook Grp Site, about 0.1 mile away, and Wauna Viewpoint, a hike 0.2 mile off. Eagle Creek Campground is 0.3 mile away, and Buck Point is 0.4 mile away.
