Mazama Campground is a National Park Service campground inside Crater Lake National Park in Oregon, and its location makes it a natural base for exploring the park. The surrounding land is managed by the National Park Service, and the campground sits within the boundaries of the national park. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at park headquarters show July and August highs around 69°F with only about four wet days a month, while winter months see highs in the low 30s and rain on 17 or 18 days. A fee is charged for camping here. The closest trails are Godfrey Glen Trail, about 0.6 miles away, and Annie Creek Canyon Trail and Castle Crest Trail, both a little over a mile off. For climbers, Crater Lake Bouldering is roughly 6.9 miles away.
