Valley View Trail is a short, easy hike in Fort Ransom State Park in North Dakota, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is about 0.7 miles long and runs from a starting point at roughly 1,260 feet to a high point of about 1,357 feet, with a total climb of 92 feet and a total descent of 123 feet. The route is front-loaded, with the steepest stretch at about 0.56 miles in, where the grade reaches 20 percent. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Lisbon, ND, show July highs around 82°F with lows near 58°F, while winter highs stay in the teens and 20s. Several other trails sit close by.
