North End is a climbing area in North Carolina, about 1.6 miles from the town of Moores Springs. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with Dog and Pony Show Area, Meat Puppet Crag and Fire Wall all about 0.1 mile away. The area is a hub for traditional climbers, with 35 trad routes among its 41 total, and it also holds a few mixed and sport routes. The climbing here runs from the low end of the scale up to the high end. The easiest route listed is Ferret Hamster at 5.6, and the hardest is Survival Of The Fittest at 5.13c. The median grade is 5.11-, so most of the routes fall in the 5.10 to 5.12 range. The area's routes are mostly trad, with a few mixed options like Boogie Till ya Puke at 5.12b. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from the nearby Danbury weather station show October highs around 70°F with lows near 47°F, and April is similar at about 70°F by day and 44°F at night. That station sits roughly 720 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. For a change from the crags, Torys Den Trail is about 0.8 mile away and Moores Wall Loop Trail about 1.1 mile away. Paddlers can head to the Little Yadkin River, about 8 miles off.
