Fire Wall is a climbing area in North Carolina, about 1.6 miles from the town of Moores Springs. It sits among a cluster of other climbing spots, with the Dog and Pony Show Area, Meat Puppet Crag, Last Wall and North End all about a tenth of a mile away, so the area works well as a single outing with several options to string together. The climbing here is all trad, with one mixed route, and the grades run from 5.6 up to 5.12d. Staircase is the easiest route at 5.6, while Pyromaniac is the hardest at 5.12d. Edge of Fire, Wild Kingdom and Wildlife are all in the 5.11 to 5.12 range. Spring and fall are the most comfortable seasons to climb. Typical averages from the Danbury, NC weather station, about 6.7 miles away, show highs around 70°F in April and October, with July the warmest month at about 87°F. That station sits roughly 720 feet lower than the climbing area, so temperatures up high run cooler. Torys Den Trail is about 0.8 miles away, and Moores Wall Loop Trail and Cooks Wall Trail are each about 1.1 miles off. For a change of pace, the Little Yadkin River is about 8 miles away and offers canoeing.
