East Face/Guides Wall (Left side) is a climbing area in the Pisgah Ranger District of the National Forests in North Carolina, managed by the Forest Service. It sits alongside the East Face/Guides Wall (Right Side) and Hidden Wall, all within about a tenth of a mile of each other, making it easy to pair with other routes in the same cluster. The area has 17 routes, mostly traditional, with one sport route. Grades run from 5.8- up to 5.12, with the median around 5.10+. Among the named routes are Questionable Hummus (5.8-), The Clincher (5.10), and Nonlinear Equation (5.11b/c), and the sport route Unknown bolted route (5.12). For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Brevard show May highs around 75°F and September highs around 77°F, with October and November seeing the fewest wet days of the year. That station sits about 1,000 feet lower than the wall, so temperatures on the rock run cooler. Slick Rock Falls and Looking Glass Rock are both within a mile, and the Davidson River offers paddling about 1.4 miles away.
