Roaring Brook Access Trail is a short, out-and-back route in Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is about a mile long, with a total elevation gain of 173 feet, and it starts at roughly 922 feet, rising to a high point of 970 feet before returning to the starting level. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.36 miles in, with a grade of 8 percent. Winter is the natural season for this trail. Typical averages from the Stormville, NY weather station, about 7.5 miles away, show January highs around 35°F and lows near 17°F, while December and February run similar. Summer is much warmer, with July highs averaging about 83°F. Several other trails sit close by. The White Trail is about 0.9 miles away, the Roaring Brook Trail is about a mile off, and the Pelton Pond Trail is about 1.2 miles away. Climbers can find Owl Cave about 5.7 miles from the trail.
