Aries is a cross-country ski loop in New York, about 1.7 miles from the town of South Bristol. The route is short and easy, with a length of roughly 0.6 miles, and it gains about 14 feet of elevation over the course of the loop, with the high point at 2,153 feet and the low at 2,118 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.38 miles along the route, with a grade of about 5 percent. Winter is the natural season for this kind of skiing. January and February typically bring highs in the low to mid 30s and snow on eight to nine days a month, based on typical averages from a nearby weather station in Honeoye. That station sits well below the ski area, so temperatures up on the loop run cooler than the figures suggest. The ski trail Gemini is just 0.1 miles away. Within a few miles you'll also find the North Loop hike, the Red Trail and the Purple ski trail.
