Hillside Drive is a short loop trail in Calverton Pine Barrens State Forest in New York, managed by the State Department of Conservation. The loop is about 0.31 miles long and sits at a low point of about 60 feet, with a high of about 85 feet. The trail is a compact, flat ride with a total climb of about 10 feet and a one-way direction that keeps traffic moving smoothly. The trail is ideal for beginners or as a warm-up ride. It offers a quick mountain biking experience on manageable terrain typical of New York's rolling hills, and the one-way route makes it easy to fit into a longer day on the forest's trails. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Baiting Hollow show May highs around 68°F and September highs around 75°F, with July the warmest month at about 83°F. Rollercoaster and Scuttle Hole are both within a quarter mile, and the Calverton Mountain Bike Trail is about 0.8 miles away. Tarkill Trail, a hike, is roughly 1.7 miles off.
