Yellow Trail is a short, moderate hike on County of Schenectady Land in New York, about 0.3 miles long and rising about 30 feet. It runs from roughly 1,380 feet to about 1,419 feet. The trail is flat for most of the way, with a slight climb and a bit more descent, and the steepest stretch comes about a tenth of a mile in at a grade of about 3%. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 81°F. That station sits about 400 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run a bit cooler. The Blue Trail and the Green Trail both start about a tenth of a mile away, and the X-C Ski Trail (Yellow) is about half a mile off. For a longer outing, the North Rim Trail is about 5.4 miles away.
