Roaring Brook Trail is a 7.4-mile moderate hike in Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is a point-to-point route, with a total elevation gain of 1,017 feet and a total loss of 1,267 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 3.2 miles in, where the grade reaches 45%. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the Stormville weather station, about 7 miles away, show May highs around 72°F and September highs around 74°F, with July the warmest month at about 83°F. Bikes and horses are both allowed on the trail. Pelton Pond Trail starts just 0.2 miles away, and Fahnestock Trail is about 0.7 miles off. Climbers can find Cookie's Crag and Owl Cave roughly 5 miles away.
