Myx Monster is a 2.8-mile point-to-point hike on County of Westchester land in New York, rising from about 337 feet to 525 feet with a total elevation gain of 323 feet. It is an easy route that takes about an hour to complete. The climb is a point-to-point, not a loop, and the steepest section comes around the 1-mile mark, with a grade of about 12 percent. The trail is open to both horses and bikes, so riders and equestrians can plan on it as a ride rather than just a walk. For comfortable weather, late spring and early fall are the best bets. Typical averages from the nearby Shrub Oak weather station run to highs of about 71°F in May and 75°F in September, while winter highs stay in the upper 30s. The route sits right next to the Boundary Trail, a mountain biking track about 0.1 mile away, with Dr. Jekyll and El Capitan about 0.2 mile off. Blue Mountain Park, a climbing area, is under a mile away.
