Menomine Trail is a 3.6-mile hike in Harriman State Park, New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. It also crosses the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. The trail is rated easy, with a one-way elevation gain of 734 feet, and it starts at about 1,132 feet, reaching a high of 1,152 feet. The route is a point-to-point trail, and the steepest stretch comes at about 2.1 miles in, where the grade reaches 22%. Bikes and horses are not allowed. For comfortable weather, aim for late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at West Point put May highs around 72°F and September highs around 76°F. That station sits well below the trail, so temperatures on the higher ground run cooler. Several other hikes lie close by, including Silvermine Ski Road about 0.6 miles away and Stillwater at 0.9 miles. Owl Lake Road is about a mile off, and Flaggy Meadow Mountain is roughly 1.3 miles away.
