Meadow Loop is a short, easy hike in John Boyd Thacher State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is about 0.94 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 51 feet, and it starts and ends near 1,429 feet. The route has a slight climb and a small drop, with the steepest stretch at about 0.66 miles in, where the grade reaches 8 percent. The most comfortable months for a visit are late spring through early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 70°F in May to about 81°F in July, with September easing back to the mid-70s. That station sits roughly 450 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the loop run a little cooler. The Nature Center Trail and Schoolhouse Trail both start about 0.1 mile away, and the Campground Trail is about 0.4 mile off. Climbers can find the Leaning Tower and Mahican Section climbing areas about 1.3 miles away.
