Lakeville Ironworks Trail is a short, easy hike in Sterling Forest State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is 0.44 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 48 feet, and it runs from a low point of 719 feet to a high of 791 feet. The route is a point-to-point path, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.14 miles in, with a grade of 14 percent. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, with September also seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Bikes and horses are not allowed on this trail. The Lakeville hike starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Fire Tower Connector Trail and Mckeags Meadow are both within half a mile. For time on the water, Monksville Reservoir is about 5.5 miles away.
