Indian Hill Loop is a 3.5-mile loop in Sterling Forest State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail rises from about 885 feet to a high point of 1,041 feet, with a total elevation gain of 436 feet and a total loss of 692 feet over the course of the loop. The climb is rated easy, and the steepest stretch comes at about mile 1, where the grade reaches 16 percent. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at West Point, NY, run from highs around 72°F in May to about 76°F in September, and the station sits roughly 700 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the loop run cooler. Warbler Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and Sapphire Trail and Stahahe Brook are both within about a mile. For climbing, Harriman State Park is about 4.7 miles off.
