Green Trail is an easy, out-and-back hike in Bennett Hill Preserve in New York, a preserve managed by a non-governmental organization. The route climbs from a starting point around 750 feet to a high point of 1,106 feet, with a total elevation gain of 538 feet over a 1.9-mile round trip. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.6 miles in, where the grade reaches 18 percent. For comfortable weather, summer and early fall are the best bets. A nearby weather station records typical July highs around 79°F with lows near 59°F, and September averages about 71°F by day. That station sits roughly 500 feet lower than the trail's high point, so temperatures on the summit run cooler. The trip takes about an hour. The Red Trail and Yellow Trail both lie about 0.4 miles away, and the Blue Trail is about 1.9 miles off. Climbers can find Sunset Wall roughly 6.7 miles away.
