Bear Hollow Trail is a short, easy out-and-back hike in Letchworth State Park in New York, managed by State Park and Recreation. The trail is about 0.7 miles long, with a total elevation gain of about 86 feet, and it starts and ends at roughly 1,056 feet. The route is mostly flat, with the steepest stretch at about 0.28 miles in, where the grade reaches about 5%. Summer and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July highs around 81°F and September highs around 73°F, with lows near 51°F. That station sits a few hundred feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run slightly cooler. The hike takes about half an hour, and it makes an easy pairing with other trails in the park. The Letchworth Finger Lakes Trail is about 0.6 miles away, the Big Flats Trail is about 0.8 miles away, and the Powerline Trail is about a mile away.
