South Rabbit Ear is a climbing area in the Organ Mountains Wilderness of southern New Mexico, within the Las Cruces District Office of the Bureau of Land Management. It sits among a cluster of related climbing spots, with The Fin and Middle Rabbit Ear just 0.1 mile away and North Rabbit Ear about 0.2 mile off. The area is home to eight traditional routes, with the YDS grades ranging from 5.0 to 5.7. The Normal West Face and South Rib are both 5.0, and Balls Away is the hardest at 5.7. The South Face Pinnacle is a historical route at 5.6. For a full day, the Rabbit Ears Area is about 0.2 mile away, and Aguirre Spring Recreation Area and Campground is about 1.2 miles off. The Baylor Canyon Pass hike starts roughly 0.9 mile away, and the Pine Tree Loop is about 1 mile away.
