The Barr is a climbing area on Bureau of Land Management land within the Las Cruces District Office in southern New Mexico. It sits among a cluster of named climbing spots, with several walls and routes about 0.2 miles away. The climbing here is all sport. The area has nine routes, with grades ranging from 5.8 to 5.11b, and the median is around 5.10a/b. Barrtender, at 5.8, is the easiest, and Salad Barr, at 5.11b, is the hardest. Several of the routes were first climbed by Sarah Hadfield and Lance Hadfield, including Barrcrawl at 5.10a/b and Raising the Barr at 5.10c. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit.
