Mesa Trail is an easy, short out-and-back hike in the Espanola Ranger District of Santa Fe National Forest in northern New Mexico. The route is less than a mile long, with a low point of 7,158 feet and a high point of 7,212 feet, and it gains about 34 feet of elevation over the course of the walk. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Los Alamos put May highs around 70°F and October highs around 63°F, while July and August run warmer and wetter, with 13 to 14 wet days a month. The trail sits close to a cluster of other routes. Pueblo Canyon Rim Trail is about a tenth of a mile away, and Tent Rocks Trail and Graduation Canyon Trail are each about 0.3 miles off. Climbers can find the Pueblo Canyon Areas about 2 miles away.
