The Continental Divide Trail on Bureau of Land Management land in southern New Mexico is a short out-and-back route that runs from a low point of 4,410 feet to a high of 4,703 feet, with a total climb of 301 feet over about 6.6 miles. It sits within the Las Cruces District Office and is rated moderate. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Lordsburg show March highs around 73°F and October highs around 82°F, while June and July average highs near 99°F and summer brings the most wet days. Main Street is just 0.1 mile away, and the Cdt - New Mexico Section lies about 7.3 miles off.
