Bayo is a short, easy out-and-back hike in the Espanola Ranger District of the Santa Fe National Forest in New Mexico, set along the Pueblo Canyon Trail. The route is about half a mile long, with a low point of 6,601 feet and a high of 6,675 feet, so the climb is gentle, rising just 64 feet from start to finish. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from the nearby Los Alamos weather station show May highs around 70°F and October highs around 63°F, while July and August bring the most wet days, about 13 to 14 a month. The Pueblo Canyon Trail lies just 0.1 mile away, and the Tent Rocks Trail for mountain biking is about 0.2 mile off. The Zipline Trail and Canyon Rim Trail are both within half a mile.
