Junebug Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Questa Ranger District of Carson National Forest in northern New Mexico. It sits among a cluster of campgrounds and trails, with Fawn Lakes about 0.8 miles away and Elephant Rock about 1.1 miles away. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically June through September. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Red River show July highs around 75°F with lows near 42°F, while August and September bring more wet days, about 10 to 16 a month. Winter is cold, with January highs around 35°F and lows near 7°F. The campground is not reservable, so plan on arriving and securing a spot on site. The Ajax Trail and Red River Nature hike are both within about a mile and a half, and the Red River (Mallette Park) climbing area is about 1.6 miles away.
