About Millstone Valley Scenic Byway
Millstone Valley Scenic Byway is a 24.6-mile drive in New Jersey, carrying both National Scenic Byway and New Jersey State Scenic Byway designations. The route links a string of small communities: Rocky Hill, East Rocky Hill, Kingston, Griggstown, Pleasant Plains, East Millstone, Weston, Millstone and Blackwells Mills. With nine towns spread along its length, the byway works well as a slow drive with stops rather than a straight run. Any of the communities makes a natural place to pause, and short hikes sit close to the road. Late spring and early fall tend to be the most comfortable times to go. A nearby weather station records typical highs around 71°F in May and 77°F in September, with July averaging about 85°F and January highs near 38°F. For a walk along the way, Blackwells Trail sits right by the route, and Blue Trail is about 0.2 miles off. Mill Pond Park is under a mile away, and Canal Link is close by as well.
