Boulder Garden Trail is a short, easy hike in Wawayanda State Park in New Jersey, managed by the State Department of Natural Resources. The trail is 0.59 miles long, with a total elevation gain of 73 feet, and it runs from a low point of 1,158 feet to a high of 1,239 feet. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.05 miles in, and the route is a point-to-point rather than a loop. Late spring and early fall are the most comfortable times to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, with July the warmest month at about 83°F. That station sits roughly 460 feet lower than the trail, so temperatures on the trail run a little cooler. The Wawayanda Lake Loop Trail starts just 0.1 mile away, and the Wawayanda Rd/Lake Loop Connector and Wawayanda Lake Loop mountain biking routes are within half a mile. For a longer outing, the Wingdam Trail is about 0.7 mile off.
