The Back Forty is a climbing area in Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area in Nevada, managed by the Bureau of Land Management. It sits within the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, about 2.7 miles from Red Rock Canyon Campground. Spring and fall are the most comfortable times to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show April highs around 70°F and October highs around 75°F, while July and August average in the mid-90s. Several other climbing areas and trails lie within about a tenth of a mile, including Existential Wall, Ranch Hands Crag, Riding Hood Wall and the Calico Basin Trail. Red Rock Canyon Campground is about 2.7 miles away.
