Krenka 1 is a short mountain biking route in the Ruby Mountains of Nevada, within the Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District of the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. The Forest Service manages the surrounding land, and the route is part of the Soldier Peak area. The climb rises about 235 feet over 1.6 miles, from a starting elevation of about 6,758 feet to a high point of 6,872 feet. The steepest section comes near the halfway mark, with a grade of about 13 percent. The route also descends about 218 feet, so the total gain and loss balance out over the course. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station run from highs around 74°F in June to about 84°F in July, with July and August seeing the fewest wet days of the year. Several other routes start close by, including Krenka 1 Spur A about 0.3 miles away, Krenka 3 at about half a mile, and Lower Sharps Canyon at about 0.6 miles. For a hike, Upper Sharps Canyon is about 0.8 miles off.
