Ice Plant Loop is a short mountain biking route in Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, within the Ely Ranger District. The Forest Service manages the land, and the loop sits at about 7,000 feet, with a high point of 7,150 feet and a low of 6,935 feet. The route is under a mile long, about 0.8 miles, and gains about 200 feet in elevation. The climb is gentle, with the steepest stretch at about 0.3 miles in, where the grade reaches 8 percent. The route also has a small drop of about 65 feet, so it works well as a short addition to a longer ride in the area. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Ruth, Nevada, show July highs around 84°F and lows near 47°F, with no snow days from June through September. Winter is cold and snowy, with January highs around 38°F and lows near 9°F. The loop sits among a cluster of other mountain biking routes. The Whoops is about 0.1 mile away, Tin Pan Alley about 0.2 mile, and Upper Slalom about 0.3 mile. For an overnight stay, Ward Mountain Campground is about 4 miles away.
