Clear Creek is a short, easy out-and-back hike in the Carson Ranger District of Nevada's Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The trail starts at about 5,897 feet and climbs to a high point of 5,932 feet, a total gain of about 51 feet over a 1.3-mile round trip. The route is nearly flat, with the steepest stretch at about 8% grade roughly a quarter mile from the start. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Glenbrook show July highs around 77°F with lows near 50°F, and only about one wet day in the month. Winters there are cold, with January highs around 41°F and lows near 25°F. Other options lie close by. The X9-T Non-Motorized trail is about 2 miles away, and the Ash to Kings Trail is about 3 miles away. Climbers can head to Dinosaur Rock, about 3 miles off. Washoe Lake State Park Campground is about 9 miles away.
