Bacon Strip is a 4.1-mile out-and-back hike on natural trail in the Carson Ranger District of Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest in Nevada, managed by the Forest Service. It's a moderate route, with a total climb of 1,467 feet on the way up and an equal amount on the way back, and the steepest section comes in at about 0.23 miles in. The most comfortable months for a visit are typically late spring and early fall. Typical averages from the nearby Stead weather station, which sits well below the trail, run to highs around 69°F in May and 79°F in September. That station's July and August highs average in the upper 80s. The trail is accessible, and bikes are allowed. Scrub Brush and Mahogany Forest, both mountain biking areas, lie about 0.1 mile away, and the Eastern Trail is also close by. Climbers can find Keystone Boulder about 2.3 miles off.
