Roadside Boulder is a bouldering area on Bureau of Land Management land in the Madison River unit of Montana, about a mile from the town of Norris. It sits alongside the Diamond & Roadside Area and Crew Crag, both of which are about 0.1 mile away, so the three make a compact cluster of climbing. The area has seven bouldering routes, all rated from V1 to V4 on the V scale. The easiest are Choke Cherry and Orange Crystal at V1, and the hardest is The Ground Is Lava at V4. Lava and Mon are both V3, and The Ground Is Lava was first climbed by Herm-Dawg. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station show July and August highs around 85°F with lows in the mid-50s, while winter brings highs in the upper 30s and a few snowy days a month from December through February. Trapper Springs (MT) campground is about 0.9 mile away, and Canaday Boat Launch is about 1.1 mile away for fishing.
