Cowen Massif is a climbing area in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness in Montana, within the Yellowstone Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest. The Forest Service manages the land, so wilderness rules for the Absaroka-Beartooth apply to any visit. West Fork West Boulder is about 3 miles away, and the Mill Creek Pass Trail and East Fork Mill Creek hikes are each roughly 4.6 miles off. Climbers looking for more rock can find Peanuts Wall about 8 miles from the massif.
