Red Rock Plateau is a mountain biking route in the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness, part of the Gardiner Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route sits within designated wilderness. The climb is short, about 0.3 miles, with a total gain of 198 feet from a starting elevation of about 7,636 feet to a high point of about 7,807 feet. The steepest stretch comes at about 0.19 miles, with a grade of 25 percent. The route is close to the Grizzly Creek and Carpenter Lake mountain biking trails, both within half a mile. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Cooke City show July highs around 74°F with lows near 39°F, while winter highs stay in the 20s. Nearby options include the Grizzly Creek Cutoff hike and the Hellroaring Meadows hike, both about 1.7 miles away. For an overnight stay, Bear Creek campground is about 9.6 miles off.
