Blue Mountain Horse/hiker A is a short mountain biking route in the Missoula Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in western Montana, managed by the Forest Service. The ride is about half a mile long, with a one-way climb of 163 feet from a low point of 3,740 feet to a high of 3,919 feet. The steepest stretch comes early, at about 0.14 miles in, with a 12% grade. Summer is the most comfortable time to ride. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Missoula show July highs around 85°F with lows near 52°F, while winter brings highs in the low 30s and regular snow days from November through March. The route sits among a cluster of trails. T-Bone and Ten Penny are each about 0.1 mile away, and Blue Mountain Horse/hiker B is about 0.2 mile off.
