Little Blue Joint is a hard hike in the West Fork Ranger District of Montana's Bitterroot National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The route is an out-and-back of about 10.4 miles, with a one-way elevation gain of 2,710 feet from a low point of 5,373 feet to a high point of 8,096 feet. The trailhead is named Little Blue Joint Trailhead, with parking at the Little Blue Joint Trailhead site. The climb is steep from start to finish. The trail is natural-surfaced and the route is long, so plan on a full day. The Little Blue Joint Trailhead is the trailhead for the hike.
