Lee Creek Interpretive is a moderate 3.5-mile out-and-back hike in the Missoula Ranger District of Lolo National Forest in western Montana. The trail rises from about 4,240 feet to about 4,654 feet, with a total elevation gain of 398 feet. The Forest Service manages the land, and the route is a natural-surface trail. The trail is open year-round, and bikes are allowed. For the most comfortable conditions, plan a visit in late spring or early fall. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Powell, Idaho, run to highs around 64°F in May and 71°F in September, while July and August average highs near 82°F. That station sits roughly 1,100 feet lower than the trail's high point, so expect cooler temperatures on the route. Lee Creek Campground and the Wagon Mountain hike both lie about a tenth of a mile from the trail. LEE RIDGE is under a mile away, and the The Heap climbing area is about 1.1 miles off.
