Hellroaring Creek is a long, steep hike in the Bozeman Ranger District of Custer Gallatin National Forest in Montana. The trail is about 21.5 miles long, and it rises more than 3,700 feet from a low point near 5,400 feet to a high point of about 9,600 feet, making it a hard route suited to experienced hikers. The Forest Service manages the land, and the trail is natural-surfaced. Horses are allowed, but bikes are not. The trip is open year-round, and the route is out and back, so the 3,741-foot gain is one way. Several climbing areas sit close by, including Upper Nunnery and Gallatin Tower, both about 1.4 miles away. The Gallatin River fishing access is about 1.5 miles off, and Garnet Mountain Fire Lookout is about 2.8 miles away.
