The Copeland Trail is a 5.8-mile out-and-back hike in the Rexford Ranger District of Kootenai National Forest in north-central Montana. The route starts and ends at about 5,264 feet and climbs to a high point of 6,000 feet, with a total elevation gain of 2,476 feet for the round trip. The trail is rated moderate, and the steepest stretch comes at about 0.68 miles in, with a grade of about 11 percent. The trail is managed by the Forest Service, and the trip takes about three hours. Because the route goes up and back to 6,000 feet, plan for a full day. The N Fork Big Creek Snowmobl Spur sits just 0.1 mile away.
