Clarence is a 10-mile out-and-back hike on natural trail in the Fortine Ranger District of Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana. The route climbs from about 4,892 feet to about 6,226 feet, a gain of nearly 1,000 feet, and is rated hard. The trail is open year round. Parking sits at the Clarence/Rich trailhead, a short walk from the trail. Bikes and horses are both allowed, which makes it a practical choice for riders and pack animals alike. The Clarence/Rich trailhead is just 0.1 mile away, and the Stahl Peak trail is about 1.3 miles off. Big Therriault Lake Campground and Little Therriault Lake are both within about 3 miles.
