Butte Cabin Ridge is a hard out-and-back hike of about 18.7 miles in the Missoula Ranger District of Lolo National Forest, managed by the Forest Service. The nearest town is Quigley, about 9.5 miles away. The route runs on natural surface and is rated hard. It starts at roughly 4,467 feet and climbs to about 8,446 feet, a one-way gain of 14 feet. Bikes and horses are both allowed on the trail. Several other destinations sit within a few miles. Quigg Peak is about 1.3 miles away, and Ranch Creek Trail #65 is about 3.5 miles out. Siria Campground and Hogback Homestead are both campgrounds about 4.7 miles from the trail.
