Sylvan Lake Campground is a Forest Service campground in the Libby Ranger District of Kootenai National Forest, about 15 miles southeast of Libby, Montana. It sits along road 154, and the site has five campsites, each with a table and a fire ring. The roads and parking spurs are of native soil, and the only facility is a vault toilet. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Libby show July and August highs around 78°F with lows in the low 40s and only about six wet days a month. Winters are cold and snowy, with January highs near 30°F and snow on about 12 days. The campground is not reservable, so plan to arrive and find a site on the spot. Willow Creek Campground is about 3.4 miles away, and Fishtrap Lake Campground is about 5.2 miles away. Hikers can head to Blacktail Loop, about 2.2 miles off, or Moose Peak, about 3.2 miles away.
