Bad Medicine is a Forest Service campground in the Three Rivers Ranger District of Kootenai National Forest in northwest Montana, about 11.8 miles from the Heron weather station that provides the typical averages for the area. The station sits roughly 110 feet below the campground, so temperatures at the camp run slightly cooler than its figures. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical July and August highs reach about 82°F with lows near 47°F, and those months see the fewest wet days of the year, around six and eight. Winter is cold and snowy, with typical highs in the low 30s and snow on about 12 days a month from December through February. Vault toilets are the only facility listed for the campground, and a fee is charged. Nearby, Ross Creek X-C Ski is a hike about 0.8 miles away, and the Bull River offers canoeing about 2.2 miles off. Dorr Skeels Campground and Ross Creek Nature are both within 3 miles.
