Mack Lake ORV Campground sits on the 175-acre Mack Lake, in the Mio Ranger District of the Huron-Manistee National Forest in Michigan. The Forest Service manages the land, and the site has a 42-site campground and day use area with a swimming beach marked by buoys. The lake is shared between private and federal ownership, and the surrounding rolling jack pine plains make it a good spot for wildlife viewing. The campground is built for ORV trail riders, with easy trail access that makes it a popular base for those heading out on the surrounding routes. Vault toilets are the only listed amenity, and the site charges a fee. Summer is the most comfortable time to visit. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mio run to highs around 81°F in July and 79°F in August, with no snow from May through September. The Mack Lake Campground Trail starts just 0.3 miles away, and the Mack - Bull Gap Trail and Mack - Mio Trail are both within about 3 miles. Wagner Lake Recreation Area, roughly 4.4 miles off, is the closest other campground.
