Bull Gap Return Loop is a short, easy hike of about 1.2 miles on the Mio Ranger District of the Huron-Manistee National Forest in Michigan, managed by the Forest Service. It's an out-and-back with a low point around 1,075 feet and a high of about 1,242 feet. The trail is natural-surface and allows bikes, so it works for hikers and riders alike. Summer is the most comfortable time to go. Typical averages from a nearby weather station at Mio run from highs near 68°F in May to about 81°F in July, with September still around 72°F. Winters are cold, with January highs near 28°F and regular snow days. The Bull Gap Trail and the Mi Shore to Shore Horse&hike both lie within a couple of miles. For an overnight stay, Cathedral Pines Campground and Mack Lake Campground are each about 3 miles away.
