The climb is steep at the start, with a 14% grade at about 0.11 miles, and the total elevation gain for the round trip is 285 feet. Winter is the natural season for this route. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Orange show January highs around 33°F and lows near 14°F, with February slightly warmer at about 37°F. That station sits several hundred feet lower than the route's high point, so temperatures on the hill run a little cooler. Several other ski routes lie close by.
