Crag 54 is a bouldering area in Massachusetts, sitting about 0.2 miles from the town of Fells. It is one of a cluster of climbing spots in the area, with Crag 6 (Black Rock) and Crag 3 both about 0.1 mile away, and Crag 1 (Pinnacle Rock) about 0.2 mile off. The East Path hike starts just as close. The climbing here is all bouldering, with eight routes in total. Seven are boulder problems, and one is a top-rope route. The boulders run from V0-1 up to V4, with the hardest being Shaq, a V4 problem first climbed by Adam Grimm. The top-rope route is the only one with a YDS grade, at 5.11. For timing, late spring and early fall are the most comfortable. Typical averages from a nearby weather station in Reading show May highs around 70°F and September highs around 75°F, while winter brings regular snow days from December through February. Other climbing and hiking close by include the Cross Fells Trail and the Rock Circuit Trail, both about 0.2 mile away, and the BooJum Rock Area at Middlesex Fells, about 0.4 mile off.
